Workflow: Setting Up Direct WebRTC Mobile Sharing
Our browser coordinate system initiates direct socket tunnels in seconds. Review the mobile sharing process below.
Stage Local Files
Select photos, videos, or archives from your mobile file manager. The app loads mobile file metadata into the session instantly.
Send Secure Link
Copy the direct session link. Share this connection link with the downloader using any messaging app or QR code.
Keep Active Stream
Ensure your mobile browser tab remains open. Once the recipient starts downloading, the data streams live from memory.
NAT Traversal Protocol and Secure Traversal Fallbacks
Most devices on the internet sit behind NAT routers or enterprise firewalls that prevent incoming connections. Our signaling server acts as a coordinator, employing public STUN (Session Traversal Utilities for NAT) servers to discover raw network paths between the sender and recipient.
In cases where extremely strict network policies block direct UDP peer connectivity, the system falls back to a TURN (Traversal Using Relays around NAT) server path. Since all data is fully encrypted end-to-end with local AES-256 keys, the TURN relay server only acts as a blind carrier and cannot inspect the contents of your transfer.
Frequently Asked Questions About Mobile Sharing
Do I need to install an app on iOS or Android?
No. The P2P transfer runs directly inside Safari, Chrome, or any modern web browser on your phone, requiring no app store downloads.
Are mobile transfers throttled or limited?
No. We do not throttle file sharing speeds or restrict file sizes. Mobile transfers run at the speed of your cellular or Wi-Fi network.
Can I lock my phone screen during a transfer?
It is recommended to keep the phone screen active. Locking your device may suspend background browser operations, interrupting the live stream.
Can the signaling server see my mobile files?
No. The signaling server only handles connection metadata to discover network paths. It has no access to the encrypted data packets.
Is mobile data encryption secure?
Yes. Mobile tunnels utilize certificates generated locally inside the browser. Tunnels are established and verified via DTLS protocols.
What browsers are supported on mobile?
Any modern web browser with WebRTC capabilities, including Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge, and Samsung Internet.
